Obituary of Jackie Glenn Green

Jackie Glenn Green was born in Fillmore, Oklahoma on December 3, 1937 to parents Glenn and Elsie Green.  He was one of 5 children.  Jackie passed away April 3, 2018 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

 

Jackie’s family moved to Arizona for several years when he was a child and then moved back to Oklahoma where he attended Mounds Public Schools.  He worked as an iron worker and later as a boilermaker for Owen Manser & Steel.  He married Ruth Florita Green in 1955 and the couple shared 62 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2017.  The couple had one son, Jackie Lee Green and one granddaughter, Amy Castillo.

 

Jackie loved racing stock cars and won many trophies racing his cars over the years.  He enjoyed watching Nascar, camping, boating, hunting for quail and pheasant as well as fishing.  He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and his great-grandsons.  He loved taking his great-grandsons fishing.  He had a fishing trip planned with them, just prior to his passing, that he never got to take.

 

Jackie was also very handy.  If he could do it himself, he would.  He enjoyed building things.  He built his home at the lake in the early ‘70s.  He could do beautiful wrought iron and stone work.

 

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; sister Barbara Newberry and her husband Jim; sister Jeanice Gilbert and her husband Tom.  He is survived by his son Jackie Lee Green; granddaughter Amy Castillo; brother Ronnie Green and wife Susan; brother Eddie Green and wife Debbie; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Jackie was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

 

Funeral Services are scheduled at 1:00 pm Friday, April 6, 2018 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Kellyville City Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled from 3-7 pm Thursday, April 5th.
