Helen was my Aunt and I have many wonderful memories of her. When I was growing up in Wichita, we used to visit Sapulpa often to see my Mom's family, including my grandparents, Uncle Jim, Aunt Helen and my cousins Carol and Ron. Helen was always cheerful and fun to be around, and we spent many happy holidays together. I actually remember being at Jim's and Helen's wedding, which took place in Helen's parents' home when I was only about six years old. As I got older and moved far away, we still stayed in contact although we didn't see each other very often. When my own parents became ill and eventually passed away, Helen was really supportive. I especially remember and appreciate how, when my Dad became unable to live by himself (but wouldn't admit it), Jim and Helen traveled to Wichita to make sure he was OK and to get him into the hospital. I was 1400 miles away in Oregon and unable to get to Wichita quickly, and it meant everything to me that they were willing to help out when the chips were down. I'm sorry that my Aunt Helen is gone but I'm grateful for everything that she did for all of us during her life. She was a warm, kind, and generous person and I will miss her.
