Jackie Monroe Bates was born November 11, 1944 to Frank and Frannie Bates and passed away on November 22, 2013 at the age of 69. Jackie lived from Alabama to Oklahoma. When he was 8 years old he and his father made an 18 wheeler from card board boxes. His brother in law was a truck driver he began planning life as a truck driver at a very young age. When he was just 19 he got his first truck. He loved driving the highway across the states. When Jackie was diagnosed with COPD and had to stop driving trucks he was heartbroken. Jackie lived with his sister (and second mother) Betty Bynum many years while growing up. Betty, at 18, put Jackie's first set of clothes on him when he was born. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his companion Anita Carrell; his children Alicia, Kim, Denise, Pam, Jimmy and Keith; sister Betty Marie Bynum; brother Thomas Bates; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services were held on Monday December 2, 2013 at Green Hill Funeral Home. The family has entrusted the services to the Funeral Directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. www.greenhillok.com
