Obituary of AUSTIN WALKER

Austin Walker was born December 3, 1922 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Talmage and Fleur Walker. Austin was employed at Sheffield Steel (formally Armco) in a career that spanned over 30 years. Sapulpa is home for Austin and 1 West Jackson is where you could find him tending to horses, cutting the grass and working on lawn mowers. Austin always greeted everyone with a friendly smile and wave as they passed by the house. Austin was married to Ola Wesson in 1945 until her death in 1975. As a result of their union they reared six children Gwendolyn Gunn, Donald Gunn (Pat), Larry "Chickie" Walker (Wenoka). His children preceding him in death are Carolyn Hutton, Joanne Gunn, and Austin "Chubby" Walker Jr. He completed his family when he met his surviving spouse Rhonda (Washington) Walker and from their union they had two children, Robin Walker and Duwayne "Bull" Walker. Austin is also survived by his brother Nulon Walker. He has eight brothers and two sisters that preceded him in death. Doc, Roy, Fred, Clarence, Freeland, Cleveland, Delmer, Elmer, Zenobia, and Marie. Left to cherish his memory are 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and his Masonic Lodge Brothers.
