Obituary of FREDDIE JOHNSON

Please share a memory of FREDDIE to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Freddie Lee Johnson was born on October 9, 1930 to Marshall Sr. and Maggie Davis Johnson. He was the eldest of 13 children, Fred loved his position of being the oldest, and was fondly called "slim" and "Lemon" by his siblings and friends. During his early years, he attended Tuskegee Elementary School at Edna, OK, and graduated from L' Overture High School in Slick, OK. He was baptized into the Christian Faith at Tuskegee Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. J.B. Greenhoward. He later joined the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. W. M. Pike. He served proudly and faithfully in the United States Army, where he received specialized training in communications operations, He received an honorable discharge. In later hears Fred worked diligently to ensure that members of his family: siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc., were recognized and listed as citizens of the Muskogee Creek Indian Tribe. He highlighted the discrepancies of the Treaty of 1860. Fred loved to discuss the Genealogy of his family. Like the African Gritos of the past, he wanted to make sure that the family history was not lost. Fred transitioned to his next assignment on November 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by both parents, Marshall Sr. and Maggie; two wives, Rose and Helen; two brothers, Arthell and Cecil; and one sister, Hazel Ruth. He leaves to cherish his memory: 5 brothers, Floyd (Zeola); Wilbert Sr., (Christine); Marshall Jr.; Charles; Rev. Melvin R. (Saundra); and 4 sisters, Idabell; Etta (Danny); Opal; and Othella (LeRoy). Fred's desire is that the Johnson Family legacy be carried on to future generations.
