Dixie Langmaid-Banks received her angel wings on January 9, 2014 at the age of 81. She was born on December 1, 1932 in Sapulpa, OK to William Langmaid and Dixie Bridges-Langmaid. On July 15, 1949 she married her "Red Hot Mess" Lee "Edward" Banks. They followed the oil boom around the country then settled back in Sapulpa, OK in 1964 to raise their family. Dixie was a care taker her entire life and this inspired her to attend Central Vo-Tech and receive her LPN certification. She worked as a nurse starting her career at Bartlett Hospital in Sapulpa, then later moving to St. John's in Tulsa working as one of the first Neonatal Intensive Care nurses where she remained until retirement. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, one son Conley "Brent" Banks, and two brothers Sam and Bill Langmaid as well as many other beloved friends and family. She is survived by 2 sisters Mary Jo Neilson and Evelyn Lilly, 3 children Daughter Barbara & husband Ronnie Wilson of Sapulpa, OK, Son Ed & wife Della Banks of Kellyville, OK and Son Richard & wife Gaye Banks of Kansas City, MO, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and counting.
