Please share a memory of Ima to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ima Louise Crawford was born October 11, 1925 to Bertha and Fletcher Gregory in Paragould, Arkansas and had a grand reunion with the love of her life on January 16, 2014. Her husband, Carl, always said the two of them had been joined at the hip since they were 14. They were married on October 28, 1945, and were a true example of a loving marriage for 63 years. She was a full time homemaker for over 20 years. Carl also said Louise was the only one he ever knew who got exactly what she wanted out of life . . . a houseful of kids! She said when her children were all still at home was the best time of her life. She was a wonderful cook who could put a full meal on the table for company with no advance warning and a wonderful seamstress who could draw a dress in the store on the back of an envelope and go home and make it. The girls' Christmas dolls always had full matching wardrobes in different colors by the time Santa Claus delivered them! She loved to read, work crossword and crytoquote puzzles, watch Wheel of Fortune, and go to the horseraces and later, the casinos with her husband. She also loved to oil paint and in later years gave lessons to her friends. She volunteered her time weekly with the handicapped bowling program in Sapulpa for many years. After her children started leaving home, she began employment with American National Bank and later, Family Federal Credit Union, until she retired. She loved those years with the banks and all the friends and customers she came to know. She and Carl traveled all over the U.S. for over 20 years in various campers, RVs, and trailers, making many lifelong friends along the way She is survived by her sister, Marvine Davis, of FL, and her five children: Margie Kirk and her husband, Sam of Sapulpa, Carlya Buchanan of Tulsa, Mitch Crawford and his wife, Teresa, of Shady Shores, Texas, Kelly Crawford and his wife, Phyllis, of Norman, and Suzanne McKinney of Tulsa. She has 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
