Obituary of DONALD SOMMER
Donald Eugene Sommer was born on March 13, 1961 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to William E. "Bill" and Ellis Yvonne (Vonna) Sommer. The Family moved to Sapulpa in November 1978.
Don attended Ardmore High School and after high school he was employed with McGill in Tulsa until the company sold out. He then went to work for TH Russell as a lead man crane operator. For the last few years he was employed as a wrecker driver. Don had a passion for cars and anyone who knew him, knew he loved to work on them.
He loved to crack jokes and have a good time. If you knew him well you pretty much knew he was not going to call you by your name. He had a way of coming up with a special name for you. He had a way of lifting your spirits whenever he was around and he could make just about anyone laugh.
He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in dath by his beloved mother, Ellis Yvonne (Vonna) Sommer and one uncle, Tommy Dwayne Rush.
Don is survived by his daughters, Alissa and Chelsea Sommer, both of Sapulpa, his father and step-mother, Bill and Adgelene Sommer, one brother, Gary and his wife Kristy Sommer, one sister, Patty and husband, Rick Hanna all of Sapulpa. He is also survived by one step-sister, Deanna Rush and step-brother, Shawn Rush both of Lavaca, Arkansas, one nephew, Justin Sommer and two nieces, Amy Sommer and Amber Mayvfield and husband Billy all of Sapulpa.
