It's Monday morning and I am back at work. I don't want to be here - but I know that it's what's best for me; and you would agree. You taught me about having a hard work ethic. I never remember you complaining about your job, ever. You also gave me a great love for music. I know you're the reason I love all those old songs from Sam Cooke, Brooke Benton, Floyd Cramer, B.B. King, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Freddy Fender...oh and the one I will NEVER forget is that Freddy Hart song "Easy Lovin'"...I can STILL see you dancing with Mom in the kitchen (you holding her rear-end) and that song blaring away on the stereo. Made my stomach hurt...ha-ha. I loved our long walks when Mom and Mark would be fishing - you knew I HATED to go fishing, so you and I would go on long walks through the woods. I remember you and Mom loading us up with Jim, Darlene, Mike and Lisa Caves and heading off to the lake for the weekend....camping. You and Jim taking Mark / Mike giggin' for bullfrogs...then coming into Mom's freshly waxed kitchen and those frogs got loose....man was she mad! You were dying laughing...of course I'm SURE it was because there had been too much indulging of adult frosty beverages by you and Jim. I will always remember looking up at the 30-yard line and seeing you in the stands when I was marching in band. You never missed a game and I've never forgotten that. You were a great Dad to Mark and I. We had everything we needed and most of what we wanted. I have always been extremely proud to be a RICHARDS - and even prouder to be YOUR Daughter. I just can't imagine not seeing you again - in this physical world. I can't get my mind around it. Mom is really hurting, Dad. I promise that I will see she is taken care of. I am just feeling very lost and overwhelmed right now. Maybe give me a little guidance eh? I love you Dad....so very, very much.
