Loy Harmon Kiddy - 1934 to 2014 Loy Harmon Kiddy was born to William Worley Kiddy and Ruby Grace Tyler on February 28, 1934, in Salina, Oklahoma. Loy grew up in Oklahoma and Arkansas and always considered Oklahoma his home. He is most known for living in the Sapulpa, Oklahoma area. His military career spanned many years, traveling around the world. He first joined the Navy in 1954, but then in 1957 transferred to the Air Force. His Air Force career took him and his family to many bases throughout the mid-west, including Michigan, Montana and Missouri. He also served overseas in Okinawa, Thailand and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from his military career in 1974, after 20 years of service. While serving in the Navy he visited Sasebo, Japan, and met Yukiko Waguri, and they married in 1956. He and Yuki had two daughters, Lois Kiddy Collier and Glenda Kiddy Brown; both daughters now reside in California, but retain strong ties to Oklahoma and family. Loy enjoyed sports immensely, including baseball, golfing, and fishing. He also invested much time in his hobbies, especially painting and gardening activities. He had a very kind heart toward animals, and he often spoke of his pets, particularly his beloved dogs. He had a very inquisitive and scientific mind, and enjoyed learning about astronomy and geology. He often wrote and spoke about very abstract scientific ideas. Loy was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Nola Nadine Rector and Lois Gazelle Johnson, all of whom also resided primarily in Oklahoma. He is survived by his daughters Lois and Glenda; his brother, Glen Dale Kiddy; and three grandchildren, Chris Brown, Chelsea Serrano, and Chase Collier. His extended family includes several nieces and nephews. Loy's family and friends will remember him for his humor, kind spirit and quiet manner.
