Wilma Jeane McClanahan was born on October 24, 1927 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Earl and Jessie Bassham. Passed from this life on August 3, 2014 at the age of 86. She is survived by son Danny and wife Janette of Sapulpa; daughter Kala of South Carolina; daughter Colleen and husband Doug of Agra; son Greg and wife Nancy of Sand Springs; son Kenny and wife Tina of Mounds; daughter Karen and husband Timmy of Sapulpa; daughter Kim and husband Mike of Sapulpa. Also sister Louise and husband Bill; Uncle Vern and wife Merla; and Uncle Eldon and wife Mildred. She had 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Cecil; her parents Earl and Jessie; sister Betty; brother William; son Dennis; and grandson Timothy. Married Cecil McClanahan on October 6, 1945 and had 8 children together. Her life was filled with hard work from raising the kids to working two jobs. Retired as a nurses aide from Bartlett Hospital after 25 years. Such a strong and tough woman with many battles to face. A cancer survivor twice. She faced them head on with Gods help. She read her bible every day. Also loved to embroidery, read romance novels and watch NCIS. Her family was the joy of her life. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren made her laugh and brought so many smiles. She loved them so much. The last year of her life was spent at The Gardens in Sapulpa. She brought a lot of laughter and many memories to quite a few employees there. Always telling us that she was working (passing out food trays and delivering meds, taking care of the babies in nursery). We told her "Mom you don't have to work! But her response was "Then you tell them that!!! And this happened often. She had so many stories to tell, some were probably not true but we believed. Except for the one where she was in the military (that is why her hands looked like they did). Wilma will be missed by so many but is dancing in heaven with her husband.
