Delpha Jane Skaggs, 85, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2014. Delpha was born in Rose, Oklahoma on July 11, 1929 to Essie and Zed Moore, the second of nine children. When Delpha was 18 she met Dennis Skaggs and they were married October 26th, 1947 and lived in Berryhill, Oklahoma. They had two sons, Lewis Ray and Gary Wayne. Delpha was an avid quilter and blessed many family and friends with her beautiful quilts. She also was an excellent cook, especially when it came to pecan pies! She and Dennis liked to fish and lived at Ft. Gibson near Wagoner for a few years where they both spent many hours boating and fishing. They then moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma. After Dennis passed away in 2000, Delpha moved back to Berryhill where she remained until her passing. Delpha was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; her son Gary; as well as 3 of her sisters and 3 of her brothers. She is survived by her son Lewis; 1 sister, Verda Skaggs; and 1 brothe, Coy Moorer; grandchildren Sandy and Aaron; and great-grandchildren Kaden, Ethan and Addison. Delpha was a very independent and strong woman, who loved her family and will be greatly missed.
