     Sam "Papa" Slavens 63, of Oakhurst passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 in Muskogee. He was the owner of S&S Foreign Cars and he served in the Vietnam War in the US Army.


     Sam is preceded in death by his parents; Gus and Naoma Slavens of Oakhurst; a brother, William Slavens of Hackett, Arkansas. Sam is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; 4 children, Michelle McIntosh of Las Vegas, Sammy Slavens of Sapulpa, Sandy Taff of Jenks, Dana Cannon of Bartlett, TN.; 8 grandchildren; Justin & Brooke Rothhammer, Brandon & Brittany Slavens, Jessica, Meagan & Trey Taff and Dillon Cain.
