Please share a memory of HETTIE to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hettie Louella Jones, known as "Louella" to most who knew her, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born to Casey and Pearl Jones in Picket Prairie, Oklahoma on July 9, 1922. She married Clyde Jones and they had one son and four daughters and raised two boys. Louella loved cooking, baking and fishing and she loved working. She worked at Howard Johnson for 26 years. She did every job there except managing. She worked until she was 80 years old. She was always ready to get and go. She made the best chicken and dumplings, homemade cobblers, the prettiest cherry pies with lattice tops on them. She loved to quilt and travel. She was a strong hard working lady. She stayed strong until the end. She didn't want her family and friends to see her lying in bed. When Heyburn was not a lake, you may say. She loved going to her (babies) grand and great grandchildren's birthday parties and most of the holidays at her grandson Bart's house.
Hettie is preceded in death by her mother; farther; husband, Clyde; brothers, Jim, Richard and John Jones; and one sister, Ruby Forrest. She is survived by her children; Bobby Lee and his wife, Mildred Jones of Webbers Falls, Reba Jones of Kellyville, Faye Lee and her husband, Robert of Webbers Falls, Bonnie Houchin of Tulsa, Carolyn Crouse of Florida; the ones she raised, David Charles and Frances Jones; sisters, Mae McGuire of Sapulpa, Patty Sue Eldridge of Oklahoma City; brothers, George Jones of Norman and Ray Jones of Cushing; brother-in-law, Sie Jones; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
