Obituary of JEWEL KNIGHT

Please share a memory of JEWEL to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jewel Kathleen (Miller) Knight was born February 14, 1927 to W.C. and Ora Miller in Milburn, Oklahoma. She went to Heaven October 31, 2008. She met and married J.W. Knight in Frederick, Oklahoma during WWII. Jewel and her family settled in the Tulsa area in 1951, where she and her husband, J.W. raised 9 children. She was a loving mother to all her children; we will greatly miss her loving and gentle nature. She was a member of the DAVA. She loved country music, the Grand Ole Opry and traveling the countryside. She celeberated 57 years of marriage with her husband J.W., who preceded her in death. Jewel is also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Junior; her brother, Ron; and sister, Ora. She is survived by her sons, Wesley, Harold, and Charles; daughters, Kathleen, Goldia, Margaret, Patricia and Wanda. She is also survived by her brother, James; sisters, Loneta and Norine; 25 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Memorials: OUR LIGHT HAS GONE OUT      81 years on this earth the light of Jewel Kathleen Miller Knight has shown.      October 31, 2008, 5 minutes till midnight, her eyes closed, never to open again, her shallow breaths ceased, her body released her spirit to the maker of the universe. Her smile is embedded in our hearts forever, her words of: "A kiss and a peck and a hug around the neck" or "Don't take any wooden nickels," are echoing forever across time.      Her life to some may have seemed simple, but to her children she taught volumes of patience, fortitude and making the best of what you have. Her love for her parents and siblings was profound. Her love and actions to her husband, J.W. of 57 years and 9 children were selfless. The 25 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren's pictures were displayed in her home.      81 years of Jewel's life shared with her siblings who have their memories of her. The children each have special thoughts of "their Momma" and all the grandkids have their tears and smiles of Grandma Jewel to cherish and share. Her light of life has left us all. We each carry her light in our hearts. The darkness is heavy but to look inside ourselves, we can see her light glowing and reassuing us that we all were loved.     Till we meet again.
