Please share a memory of WESLEY to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wesley Charles Mizer, born January 15, 1958 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Arlene (Neal) Mizer and Winston Mizer, graduated to Heaven on January 12, 2009.  He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1976.  He attended Wichita Automotive School in Kansas.  On night he met Rhonda Southerland and had taken her home from work.  The radio was playing Take a chance on me.  They knew they would be together.  On July 3, 1980 they were married.  He was preceded by his parents Arlene and Winston Mizer, sister Lola Mizer, and brother Wesley Mizer.  He is survived by wife Rhonda Mizer; daughters Amberley Mizer and Leslie (Mizer) Wills; son Wesley Mizer II; sister Viola (Mizer) Matthews; nephews Raymond Matthews, Aaron Ellis, and Travis Matthews; and five grandchildren: Dallas Wills, Dalton Keener, Trinity Wills, Zaltana Keener, and Victoria Wills.        Wesley was the Associate Pastor at Sand Springs General Baptist Church for the past three years.  He helped organize several benefit singings due to his love of music and compassion to help those in need.  Wesley joked all the time about starting his trucking career when he was only 15 years old.  He learned how to drive in the hay fields by avoiding hay bails.  Each hay bail hit was deducted from his paycheck.  This was a very good incentive to achieving a decent check.  He continued driving 18-wheelers throughout his life.  He dreamed of owning his own company and in 2004, God allowed him to achieve that dream.  Wesley would tell us the stories of when he was driving in the dark tunnels and the tunnel lights would be out.  There was always a turn in the middle of these tunnels.  He would talk about how dark it always was until he rounded the curve and then he could see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.  Through these experiences he developed a strong love and understanding of the song "The Lighthouse".  Upon establishing the company, he called it Lighthouse Transportation and dedicated it to God.  He would spread his gospel on the highways and bi-ways all over the United States.  As he left you to your way, the last thing he would always say was, "May the good Lord travel with you and have a safe ride."         One of his greatest loves in his life were his grandchildren.  Everyone had their own unique name, only known to him: Dallas - Dixie, Dalton - Heebie-Jeebie, Trinity - T.J., Zaltana - Tonka, and Victoria - Bug.  His trips to the mall with the grandkids were a very interesting site.  Try to imagine a large grown 50-year old man running through the mall with a small four foot grandchild chasing after him just to see who could reach the escalator first.  They would run up and down several times laughing hysterically while the child is holding lotion in one hand and candy in the other.  Grandma was always behind picking up the lost pieces.  This was the "GRANDPA LEGACY".
