Obituary of Laura Irene Church

Laura Irene Church, 85 passed away at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, April 16, 2018.

She was born on September 17, 1932 at home in Lenoir, North Carolina to Elmer and Mossie (Crisp) Nelson.  She was their third of eight children, but the first-born girl.

She was a three-time cancer survivor and always had a strong spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Church; her parents Elmer & Mossie Nelson; 2 brothers Stanley and Johnny Nelson; mother-in-law Stella Loopey; sister-in-law Emma Campbell.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Bratton of Owasso, and Michelle Rogers and husband Joe of Owasso.  Two grandsons Duane Church of Owasso and Randy Rogers & fiancée Samantha of Mannford, Oklahoma.  Three granddaughters; Laura Bratton of Owasso, Bobbi Westmoreland & husband Jarred of Hutchinson, Kansas and Christy Ray of Owasso. Three great granddaughters; Kealynn, Dannee and Aspen.  Four great grandsons; Harrison, Gabriel, Canaan, and Jordan, two more great grandsons expected in June and October of this year Jameson and Hudson.  Two brothers; Gary and Eddie Nelson, three sisters; Pauline, Kathleen, and Christine.  A niece Melody Palmar and husband Tony of Tulsa and a sister-in-law Charlotte Christopher of Whitehouse, Texas.

She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

 
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Apr 20 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Owasso

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Apr 19 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Owasso
