Obituary of Darrell Joe Matlock

Darrell Joe Matlock passed away on May 19, 2018 at the age of 64. He was born on October 8, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the youngest of three boys to Virginia Faye (Reagan) and James Willard Matlock. He grew up in Tulsa where he graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1971.  On October 26, 1974 he married the love of his life, Cheryl Gabbard and had three children, Chris, Teresa and Janice.  Darrell worked as a welder most of his life.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, softball, coaching his kids' sports teams and playing cards with his family.  He loved to play video games with his grandkids and watching his youngest grandson and son-in-law race.  His greatest achievement was his family whom he loved fiercely.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl. His son Chris Matlock of Pasadena, Texas. Daughter Teresa and her husband Billy Sieh of Pearland, Texas.  Daughter Janice and her husband Jason Linzy of Collinsville, Oklahoma.  He has one granddaughter, Reagan Linzy of Collinsville and three grandsons, Drake Linzy of Collinsville and CJ and William Sieh of Pearland. His brother Larry Matlock and his wife Debbie of Collinsville, Oklahoma.  Sister-in-law Roseanne Matlock of Bristow, Oklahoma and many neices, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Willard and Virginia Faye Matlock. His oldest brother Gary Gene Matlock and one neice Vickie Renee Matlock.

Services will be held Wednesday May 23, 2018, at 1:00pm ant Community Baptist Church 2805 South Garnett Tulsa, OK
