Obituary of Truman Ralph Mathews

Truman “Ralph” Mathews of Sand Springs, OK, was born May 9, 1934 in Stillwell, OK to William and Edith Mathews.  He passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 in Sapulpa, OK. 

Ralph was married on January 17, 1952 to Berniece.  They raised four children together.  He began his working career at Liberty Glass Company in Sapulpa and remained employed there until his retirement many years later. He was a good strong man, blessed with mechanical, electrical and carpenter skills and always willing to help with any projects someone may have going on. Even with limited formal education, Ralph was always interested in learning something new. He would work relentlessly on something until he got it “just right”. He was a very simple, honest, hard-working mostly quiet and soft-spoken man, who loved his family with all his heart. Ralph enjoyed life, his family and the lifelong friends he made along the way. Most importantly, he loved the Lord.

Ralph is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, his parents, his son, Eugene Mathews and brothers Larry and Eugene and a sister Helen Morgan. 

Ralph is survived by his children; Judy Sanders and Tony of Sapulpa, Donna Stinnett and Ronny of Mounds and Tina Inman and Rudy of Sand Springs. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kristy Inman, Travis Mathews, Todd Inman, Shanna Johnson, Shaun Stinnett, Jason Mathews and Casi Thomason and 14 great-grandchildren.  Ralph has three surviving siblings, Bill Mathews, Arlene Young, and Carolyn Ray.
