Obituary of Jack Padgett

Jackie Ray Padgett better known as “Jack” was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 30, 1939 to Claude and Opal Padgett.  The family also included two brothers Sam and Virgil.  Jack passed away June 14, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jack married Sonya Helen Hampton on February 7, 1959.  To this union two children were born daughter Susan and son Christopher.

Jack joined the Air Force where he served honorably for 22 years.  He was stationed at various Air Force bases around the world.  He retired from the Air Force on July 31, 1978.  After retirement from the Air Force Jack worked for the United States Postal Service for 22 years retiring on June 1, 2001.  He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 39 years.

Jack enjoyed working on old cars and since his retirement loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Samuel who has been missing in action in Vietnam since April 10, 1968.

Jack is survived by his wife Sonya of the home, daughter Susan Wells of Kapolei, Hawaii, son Christopher of Cleveland, Oklahoma, grandson Dillon Wells of Tulsa, Oklahoma, great granddaughter Harlynn Arianna Wells of Hot Springs, Arkansas and sister- in- law Tommie Sue Hampton of Sperry, Oklahoma.
