Obituary of Howard Thompson Ashwood

Howard “Buddy” Ashwood, Jr. of Sapulpa, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 23, 2018.  He was born on April 24, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Howard “Bud” and Margaret Harris Ashwood.  On December 1, 1956, he married the love of his life, Nan Blankenship Ashwood, in Muskogee.

He is survived by his wife, Nan, of the home; son Gary Ashwood (Mary) of Sapulpa, daughter Nancy Murphy (Harold) of Kellyville, and son Chris Ashwood (Becky) of Kiefer.  Grandchildren: Michael Ashwood (Katie), Thom Ashwood (Crystal), Travis Ashwood (Angie), Megan Ashwood, Ethan Murphy, Hannah Yager (Matt), Lee Barber (Stacey), Kerrie Barber, Audra Ashwood, and Chris Ashwood, Jr. (Kelsey). Great Grandchildren: Debi, Kayla, Jackson, T.J., Tristan, Blake, Chase, Piper, Lennon, Reese, Michael, Adi, Lila and Gerard. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Ashwood of Tahlequah and Joan Ashwood of Denver and one brother-in-law, Junior Blankenship (Paula) of Muskogee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Margaret Ashwood and oldest son, H.T. Ashwood, III.

He loved sharing the gospel of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through his ministry since May of 1967. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and attending gatherings with his ever-growing family. As everyone knows, he was an avid cap collector. In his later years, he enjoyed sharing his testimony with anyone he came in contact with.



Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jun 29 from 2:00-3:00 PM at First Baptist Church - Kellyville Kellyville, Kellyville

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jun 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Green Hill Funeral Home, Sapulpa 400 East Teel Road, Sapulpa
