Obituary of James "Jay" Rolla Jones

James “Jay” Rolla Jones, age 70, passed away at his home in Tulsa, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, July 9th, 2018.  He was born on March 9th, 1948 in Norman, Oklahoma to Jimmy K. Jones and Annahlee (Morris) Jones. In 1967, he graduated from Winchester Academy in Virginia.  Eventually, he would go on to have four children Annahlyn, Emmi, Ryan, and Jeff.  On November the 16th, 1994 Jay married Dorothy Mae Potts in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and gained two more children, Kenneth and Susie.

Jay and Dorothy enjoyed many years together traveling, riding horses, and spending time with all their children and grand-children.  Jay loved to play golf, spread the Gospel, and he never stopped educating himself on any topic he found of interest.      

He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Dorothy; his children Annahlynn Pugh and husband Jeff, Emmi Strain and husband Jimmy, Ryan Jones and fiancée Lindsay O'Donell, Jeff Jones and wife Ashley, Kenneth Glover and wife Lisa, Susie Anderson and husband Rick, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jay had a heart of gold.  The love he had for his family shined in every smile he gave.  He was always surround by the kids.  They were drawn to him and the attention he gave to each one made them feel so special.  He was the sweetest man we knew.  He will be forever missed.

Services are scheduled on Friday July 13th at 10:30 A.M at the Assurance Church in Mounds and on Friday 13, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Green Hill Masoleum Chapel. Visitations are scheduled Thursday July 12^th from 6:00-8:00 P.M.  at the Green Hill Funeral Home.
