Joyce is one of the kindest people I know. I met her in 2000, she and Bill were newly married and my family had just moved to Kiefer and got involved in the school fioundation with her and Bill. I then came to know her better as Grams though “the girls” and “the grands”. I would always laugh the way she would say “beeeeeilll”. What a lovely tribute her obituary is! She will truly be missed. Much love and prays to Bill and the entire family!

I knew her as Ms. Calvin. The sweetest lady ever on this earth. She had my daughter in the fourth grade. I just don't know what we could have ever done with out her. She is one in a million. She was a Teacher that taught! I will forever be grateful to her. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so sorry for your loss! I have so many memories of when I came to Lone Star in 4th grade and had her as my teacher in 1995. She was by far one of the best teachers I ever had and was the perfect example of a what a teacher should be! I'm so sad that she is gone, but I hope she gets to teach all the children in heaven! Derek and Renee, I just wanted to tell you both how sorry I am. She was my very favorite teacher ever, and she made a very big impact on my life for the better. She went to the same church at Kiefer as my brother, Kenny, did, and when I would go there to sing, I loved to see her and talk to her.
