Obituary of Gracie Fern Haney

Gracie Fern Haney (Ritchie – Petitt), 92 of Kellyville, passed away at Hillcrest Hospital January 22, 2019 and began her new life in Heaven with the Lord.  She was born May 28, 1926 in Rural Sapulpa to Mary Elizabeth (Parks) Ritchie and Ernest Orville Ritchie.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and EO Ritchie; 10 of her 11 siblings; the father of her children Roy Pettit; second husband Leonard Petitt, who brought 8 bonus children into her life; and her third husband CJ Haney with whom she shared another bonus daughter.  She is survived by her children Roy Dale Petitt of Sand Springs; Shirley Holmes of Sapulpa; Ronnie Petitt and wife Linda of Sapulpa; Robert Petitt and wife June of Mounds; Brenda Manning and husband Tommy of Sapulpa; Lillie Troxell and special friend Joe Hoover of Sapulpa; Mary Buthod and husband Joe of Kellyville.  She is also survived by her 6 of her bonus children from her marriage to Leonard and her bonus daughter from her marriage to CJ; brother Delbert Ritchie of Sapulpa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many more family members and friends.

 

Gracie grew up on North Heights Hill, 1 0f 12 children, and attended Garfield School.  Gracie loved to camp at the lake, spending time enjoying the outdoors, fishing and boating with her husband CJ and youngest daughter Mary.  She also enjoyed gardening with CJ.  The couple loved to travel in their motor home.  It was not uncommon for them to set out to see the country and not return for 6-8 weeks.  Many wonderful memories were made on their trips.

 

Gracie loved needle point, crafts, crochet and made many beautiful afghans.  She earned many ribbons at the creek county fair for her afghans.  Gracie lived in Kellyville for approximately 38 years and she attended Forest Hills Baptist Church in Sapulpa for many years.  Gracie will be greatly missed by her family and all her dear friends and loved ones.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 28, 2019 at Forest Hills Baptist Church with Reverend Louie Speck officiating.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-8 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home.  www.greenhillok.com 918-224-2312
