I first met Don many years ago, when he lived in the SF Bay Area. We met in the context of business, and Don invited me to play golf one weekday morning. Now, I am NOT a golfer, except for a couple of trips to PutPut as a kid. But I was open to trying it, and showed up on time, with my borrowed clubs.
Don was very patient, and eventually we got to the 9th hole, far from the club house. I was pretty low, as I had discovered I was a terrible golfer. Don bent over to place a ball for me on the Tee, and encouraged me to use his "special driver" with the extra large head. I gave it my all -- and the ball exploded as I hit it. Literally, I pulverized it!
"Well heck, that is better than a hole in one" he said as he patted me on the back.
The rest of the round was fun, as I knew that sooner or later, I actually would connect and hit that....ball.
At the end of the round, over a soft drink, Don admitted that he has switched balls on me, and that I had hit a special "gag ball". We both laughed at the time, as it was clear that I was not destined for a Pro Golf career.
I miss you, my friend, and hope you're being kind to all the new golfers up there.

Hoping you have found good golf, great guitars and loved ones lost.
P.S. Mom will be OK; she is stronger than she knows.
Love, Michele

Remembering all the good times. Many get togethers with our group of friends, sharing stories and laughter! You will be missed. You are no longer in pain and in the arms of the Lord. Peace, brother. You are with all your loved ones who have passed before you including all your furbabies.

Connie, I always remember the fun we had when we got to come and visit with you and Don in Arizona. The first time I saw "Forrest Gump" was at his mothers home. I cried through the whole movie. I also remember when we worked at Spears travel and Charlene had a pool party and Don sang some songs for us. Good memories.

Don, you were 7 when I started dating your brother, Bob. I always picture you in your cowboy hat with your BB guns and holsters. In a few years we 2 sat on your bedroom floor and listened to your "Elvis" 45s on your portable record player. Then you discovered the guitar and from then on I was your biggest fan! My son Brian followed you and we loved it when you two played together. I can still imagine you playing up there with the angels. Love you Don
