Obituary of Howard E Rowland
Howard was born in Coweta, Oklahoma on October 25, 1926 to Raymond and Maudie Rowland. He was the oldest of three children. He was a graduate of Porter High School.
Howard served his country in the Army as a sergeant. During WWII, he was stationed in Germany where he served as part of a war crimes investigation team. He was discharged from active duty at Fort Dix, New Jersey on January 20, 1947.
He saw his love for the first time at Porter High School in Porter, Oklahoma. They were married on April 9, 1949, they moved to Tulsa the same year. On October 16, 1951 they welcomed a baby girl. On July 13, 1956 they welcomed a baby boy. Howard went to school to become a television repairman and started his own repair service, Rowland Repair Service. Howard also worked at several fabrication facilities before retiring from Trinity Industries in 1988 as a quality control manager.
Howard was as avid fisherman and enjoyed camping with life-long friends. He enjoyed golfing. Woodworking and metal detecting. He loved to build and tinker with remote-controlled drones, helicopters and cars. He didn’t get his first computer until he was 77 years old but he could replace the hard-drive and reformat it without any assistance and could beat his grandsons at Super Mario Brothers.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother Maudie, father Raymond and brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, daughter Melody Baker (Bob) of Parker, Colorado, son Greg (Paula) of Tulsa, sister Judie McCullough (Tom) of Neosho, Missouri, grandchildren Angie Westback (Tim) of Parker, Colorado, Nick Baker (Krista) of Elizabeth, Colorado, Brandon Rowland (Brooke) of Tulsa, Jason Rowland (Sara) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, step-son Rob Baker (Lisa) of Parker, Colorado and step-granddaughter April Richardson (Shane) of Collinsville, Oklahoma, eight great-grandchildren and five step- great grandchildren.
