Homer Harold "Cotton" Kirkwood Sr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the age of 73. He was born on August 13, 1935 in Sapulpa, to Kerney and Hazel Kirkwood. Harold was in The Army National Guard from 1952 - 1953 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956 - 1957. Harold married Joy Lowery on October 7, 1956 in Sapulpa. They were together for 52 years.Harold is preceded in death by mother and father; Hazel Kirkwood-Ruhl and Kerney Kirkwood; two brothers; Clifford and Gerald Kirkwood; two sisters; Virginia and Geraldine Kirkwood; great grandson; Taylor Miller. Harold is survived by his loving wife and son of the home; Joy and Harold Jr.; daughters; Carletta Johnson and husband Allan of Sapulpa; Kim Roberts and husband Mike of Grove; 8 grandchildren; Stephanie (Johnson) Roberts and husband Kyle of Tulsa; Johnathan, Ashley and Kaitlyn Johnson of Sapulpa; Amanda (Roberts) Miller and husband Caleb of Tulsa; Stacey (Roberts) Lane and husband Clinton of Grove; Kasey and Jordan Roberts of Grove; 3 great grandchildren; Chloe and Kameron Roberts of Tulsa; Mattison Jackson of Tulsa; brother; Cecil (Tyke) Kirkwood and wife Imagean of Sapulpa; two sisters; Laverne Yocham and husband Earl of Jay, Ok., Kay Branum and husband Mike of Jay, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews other loved ones and friends.Daddy you are special to so many people. You have touched many lives with your loving and ornery spirit. "To know you is to love you." Even though we know you are dancing in heaven with your parents while holding your great grandson, you will be sorely missed by everyone who had the honor to meet you. You will never be forgotten. Good-bye for now till we see you again.

Saturday June 20, 2009 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday June 21, 2009 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday June 22, 2009 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Tuesday June 23, 2009 from 9:00 am to sevice time.

10:00 am Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel
