Lonnie was such a great person and had so much to give. Such a toxic smile and laugh! He was a man of many trades from fixing iron skillets, gardening lol, fishermen, and wine making. He always said “let’s get this party started”, it was his trademark quote. My heart is broken. Gone BUT never forgotten! Barbara, Jeremy, and Shannon, family/friends, you’re all in my prayers.

Shannon and Jeremy the only thing your dad loved more then hunting and fishing were you two, and Barbara. Sorry your dad and I lost touch, but the last time I saw him was when he and Barb had driven to Florida. We met up for lunch and just caught up on our families and friends. Your dad was so proud of his children, and did brag about what good kids he had.
I can tell you a little story about your dad, way before he met your mom. We had been out to some of the Ann Arbor bars one Saturday night. Had a few beers, not to being stupid drunk, but a few. Well your dad had this white with green accent Chevy pickup, and he wanted to go racing down some of the back roads he new really well, but I had no clue of. Well he got us on this dirt road and had gotten the speed up pushing 100mph. We crested the top of this hill and we went airborne down this hill.
That truck had to have gone down well over 50 feet. I'm scared to death and your dads yelling yeah, and laughing his butt off on how much he scared me. Your dad had total control of the truck, and knew about the truck going to go airborne because as he told me later, he'd done it many times before. Kind of like the Duke boys on the Dukes of Hazzard. That was your dad. He loved having fun, but he was also not reckless. He just loved a good time, and making others enjoy the time they spent with him.
I'll miss his laugh and smile, but I do believe he's in heaven now with his mom and dad, and brothers John and Ray Lewis.
