Obituary of Warren Wideman

Please share a memory of Warren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warren Gerald Wideman was born on August 25, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Warren and Betty Wideman.  He lived in Sand Springs, where he remained until his passing on June 27, 2009.Gerald married the love of his life, Carla Dyann Settle on May 21, 1971.  They celebrated 38 years of marriage this year.  Gerald, in his later years, enjoyed his grandchildren who were the light of his life and he enjoyed them immensely.  He spoiled them endlessly, taking them fishing, buying them the best of toys and feeding them as much ice cream as they could eat.  He enjoyed taking care of his family.  His sense of humor was a big part of his character that was loved by all and his antics both at work and at play will not be forgotten. Gerald enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, reading, working on cars or simply just sitting around spending time with his family and friends, telling jokes.Gerald is survived by his wife, Carla; his three daughters, Wendy Elliott, Jennifer Cypert and Tammy Millburn; his father, Warren Wideman; sisters, Carolyn Brooks and Sheila Boren; 5 grandchildren, McKenzie, Blake, Bailey, Brooklyn and Joshua.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Wideman.Gerald showed everyday how to fight the good fight of faith and we are so proud of him.  We love and miss you but will never forget you.Daddy;I love you so very much.  As a child you were my hero, as a young woman you were my confidant, as a wife and mother, you and mom have given me the best example of a truly successful and long-lasting relationship and I am forever grateful.  I am so proud of you Daddy as you fought the good fight of faith.  When you were given only a short time to live, you stood in faith on God's Word and proved that God's Word never fails.  I am so honored to be your daughter.  John 16:20-22 says I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices, you will grieve but your grief will turn to joy.  Now is your time or grief but I will see you again and you will rejoice and no one will take away you joy.  So Dad, I will grieve that you are no longer here, but I will rejoice that you are with our Heavenly Father and I will see you again. All my love,Your Daughter,                                                                                                                                                              Wendy  Service: 10:00 AM Tusday, June 30, 2009, Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel Cemetery: Green Hill Memorial Gardens, with military Honors by the VFW 5th District Honor Guard
