Obituary of Johnathan Jordan Fortney

Johnathan Jordan Fortney “J.J.” was born January 5, 1997 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Fortney and Stephanie Wells.  He moved to his Heavenly Home May 24, 2019 at the age of 22.

J.J. attended elementary and middle school in Jacksonville, NC, where he also attended Lighthouse Baptist Church.  He went to high school in Jacksonville, NC and Coweta and later worked in the food service industry as a cook. He enjoyed playing football and baseball, swimming and listening to music.  He loved hanging out with his brothers and sisters.  J.J. most recently lived in the Tulsa/Sapulpa area.

J.J. is survived by his son Jordon Matthew Lee Fortney (mother Angella Meshell Hitchcock); mother Stephanie Wells; father William Matthew Fortney; stepfather Joseph Rodriguez; stepmother Melissa Yost; siblings Matthew Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Kylie Fortney, Kelsey Fortney, Tyler Fortney and Hannah Rodriguez; grandparents Max and Judy Wells, Bill Fortney and Georgia Melhourn; aunts and uncles Nicole Wells, Danny Morgan, Donny Morgan, Erica Morgan, Jody Edwards, Sr., Jackie Fortney, Christopher Fortney, Shelby Deem and Adam Melhourn; cousins Tiffany Wells, Jody Edwards, Jr., Augustice Edwards, Alexandria Morgan/Davis, Jasmine Morgan, Jeremiah Morgan, Olivia Morgan, Trenton Mayberry, Addarah Morgan, Adrian Sanchez, Haley Fortney, Alexandria Fortney, Ashley Fortney and Cooper Deem; pets Cookie and Bootsie and many friends.

Family and friends will long remember J.J. and look forward to a reunion one day with him in Heaven.
