Carol Failla

Born: March 28th 1942

Died: June 4th 2019

Carol passed away of cancer at 77 in Tulsa, OK at Clarehouse. She was born to Rudolf and Laura Buckendorf who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rudy Buckendorf, and sister Sandra Nusbaum. She leaves behind her sister Debbie Cole and brother Mike Buckendorf as well as a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her only child Santena Rubalcava, son-in-law Joe Rubalcava, and her two precious grandchildren, Gabriela Rubalcava and Diego Rubalcava. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and did anytime she could. She lived with them for the last 6 months of her life.

Throughout her life, she loved many things like: being outdoors, animals, fishing, beautiful flowers, playing cards, being creative, having fun, singing, dancing, going to church, and maybe most of all spending time with family and friends.

She was also a very religious woman. She went to Holy Family Catholic School through 11th grade then moved to Webster for her senior year to take secretarial classes. She was also in C.A. (a catholic youth group) where she met some lifelong friends. She thought of becoming a nun but got married instead to Orlando Failla, and they had a daughter Santena. They divorced many years later and she later married Bill Oliver, and later divorced.

She did take some higher education classes and had a few different careers in her life. Her first job was working in the family business as a meat wrapper at the Buckendorf Packing Company. She worked for many years in the oil business as an Executive Secretary and a Division Order Analyst. She was also proud of being a business owner, where she sold antiques and collectibles. After the oil business crashed in the 80s, she went to work for Avis Rent-A-Car where she became a “SUPERSTAR” and worked there for 13 years.

Carol always loved to have fun while working, and always tried to make the best of a bad situation. She loved parties and visiting and counseling people. In the end, she decided not to have a service but rather a party to remember her life.
