Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James “Jim, JR” Edward Robbins, 70 of Sapulpa, OK died from natural causes, on Tuesday June 18, 2019 at his home after a 4 year battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Rock Falls, IL on December 22, 1948 to James and Beverly (Jones) Robbins. Jim was educated in the Rock Falls school system and graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1968. He was selected for All-State Football Honors his senior year. After high school, he began construction work and was a general contractor for most of his adult life. He was also employed by Morrison School District #6 in maintenance for 12 years. He moved to Colorado in 1996 where he enjoyed team pinning and cattle drives in the mountains. He moved to Oklahoma in 2008 where he was employed by the Kiefer and Glenpool Post Offices until his death.

Jim married Jeanne Drolema of Morrison, IL in 1970. They were blessed with three children: Josh, Joe and Joslyn. In 1993 he married Lois Huling of Morrison, IL and became the stepdad to Nakiea Smith.

Jim loved entertaining, whether playing his guitar and singing in the band or telling jokes. He always had a funny story to tell or a useless fact to share. He loved being outdoors, riding horses, hunting, coaching baseball, feeding birds, camping and playing golf. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglas Robbins. He is survived by his wife Lois Robbins (Huling); children Josh (Stephanie) Robbins of Sterling, IL, Nakiea (Mike) Strecker of Kiefer, OK, Joe (Amy) Robbins of Morrison, IL, and Joslyn (David) Kailey of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren Grant, Diana, Jayden, Grace, Addison, Noah, Emma, and Ava. He is also survived by two sisters Carolyn Keel and Linda Robbins/Underwood. He had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 2019 at Triple P’s in Rock Falls, IL from 2-5pm. All family and friends are invited.
