Obituary of Wayne Simmons
Wayne Simmons, age 98, was born April 24, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up on a farm approximately fifty miles south of that city. He passed away July 12, 2019.
He married Ruth Owen Dawson on February 5, 1941. They had one daughter who also lives in Sapulpa. He has two grandchildren who live in the Chicago area.
After serving three years in the U.S. Naval Reserve Aviation Corps he returned to Missouri and was employed as a livestock feed salesman for a national company. Later the family moved to Miami, Oklahoma where he was a deacon and youth teacher at First Baptist church.
