Thank you for loving me grandma. Thank you for telling me when my hair looked better the other way and when I needed to lose or gain weight. Nobody has your back the way your Grandma does, especially Dorothy the Great. I love you so much and although I'm grateful you are no longer in misery being mixed up selfishly my heart aches wishing we could all go back to the days spent at Grandma's house.

Holidays! Crow hunting! Ripping my overalls on barbed wire. Homemade bread! Hugs! The list goes on! What a wonderful woman that has sided with the Lord. I’m thankful to be part of this family and to have memories with a grandma like her!

Grandma, I’ll never forget thanksgivings and Christmas spent with you, talking in your kitchen. I was your granddaughter from the start, no matter that I was “store bought”. I see so much of your character in my dad and uncles who continue to pass it on to us grandkids and to the great grandkids. My children were fortunate to have a Dorthy the Great who was truly great. We love you grandma.

Dear Grandma,
The last several times we crossed paths, you did not recognize me. You had to question yourself each time, probably a dozen or more. You asked me questions that you hoped would give you a better understanding of who I am (or was).
You battled a disease that eats people’s memories, and to have them torn away from you little by little is the scariest situation I can bear to imagine dealing with long term.
That said, you are finished with it.
You have won.
You are home.
Rest in our Ultimate Paradise, Dorthy the Great.
I love you,
Jake

Grandma you will be greatly missed. You are loved beyond measure. I will never forget the many Christmases and birthdays we had together. The childhood memories will live forever in my heart. She never needed a reason to make those around her feel special. That is just what she did. Biggest heart of anyone I know. Dorothy the Great was more than a nickname it was a very fitting description of who she was. The greatest person and one of the greatest influences on my childhood. And as a result of who I am now. I love you always Grandma.

I wish we were at the hospital before you passed, and I wished we could have seen you one last time before you were gone. But I will always remember who you were to me when I was small; we weren’t blood, but you treated me with the same love and care anyway. You were still my great grandma. I’m going to miss you, Dorthy the Great!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Aunt Dorthy was always my favorite. So warm, friendly and funny. She always made us kids feel welcome in her home. Heaven gained an angel.

I didn't make it to tell you Thank you. Thank you for being such a big part of my childhood and a great influence. I have always cherished the times we spent at the piano. I would cuddl up to you and you played and sang and I felt so loved and safe. I didn't get to spend time with you as an adult, but I will always cherish my childhood memories.
