Obituary of Jerry Lee Bailey

Jerry Lee Bailey was born on March 17, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. He passed away on July 23, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents William “Lenny” Bailey and Ernestine Elizabeth Hedge; and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Jerry Lee was survived by his wife of 57 years, Laverne Bailey. He was also survived by his daughters Randi Carson and husband Tim Carson; Jeri Leigh Bailey Watkins and husband Ron Watkins; along with granddaughters Rebecca Lynn Watkins and Jessica Leigh Watkins; and great-granddaughter Averi Leigh Cleveland-Watkins. Jerry was also survived by his sisters Ruth and Lennetta. 

Jerry was a man that loved working with his hands. Earlier in his life he was a partner in a construction company and from there he went on the road. He was a truck driver for 24 years before he retired in 2005. He enjoyed working in his garden and working to fix up lawn mowers. Jerry enjoyed watching Nascar and Oklahoma State Football. He was loved not only as a father and husband but also as a Play Papa.

Graveside Service Saturday July 27, 2019 at 10:00am at North Committal Center at Green Hill Memorial Gardens Sapulpa.
