Obituary of Georgia Lee Ray

Georgia L. Ray (GG),was a loving daughter, sister, aunt (great-aunt), and amazing friend to all who knew her.  Georgia at the age of 71 was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday August 13, 2019. Georgia was born on October 12, 1947 in Batesville, Mississippi to Walter David Ray and Ludie Mae (Brown) Ray. Georgia was the fifth of six children born to Walter and Ludie.

Georgia started school in Mississippi, moved to Pleasanton Calif in 1957, returning to Mississippi in 1961 attending Clarksdale Public Schools.  She moved to Tulsa in 1987. She worked as a cook at several places, NW Regional Medical Center in Mississippi, and in Tulsa at Union Public Schools , Audubon Preschool  , Heather Ridge Heights , and 12 & 12. She touched many lives in her work, always caring for others.  She attended Meadowview Baptist Church & New Hope Baptist Church in Owasso.

Georgia was proceeded in death by her father Walter Ray, mother Ludie Brown Ray, brothers Claude Ray & Charlie Ray, and two sisters, Mary Ray Bruce, and Betty Ray Hensley.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Ray Bartholomew (BobbieSue), brother-in-law Carl (Red) Bartholomew, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, who will all miss their “GG”, along with numerous friends.
