Obituary of Carolyn Kay Herod

Carolyn Kay Herod, age 77, of Sapulpa passed from this life to be with the Lord on August 15, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Kay was born March 10, 1942 to parents George Gibbs and Edna Gibbs (Sill). Kay was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.   

She devoted many years of her life to her passion of being a nurse and helping others. She married Paul Herod in March of 1981 and later retired from nursing.

She was preceded in death by her mother Edna Gibbs and son Tony Whitehead, sisters Annabelle Burks and Freddie Runyon. She is survived by her husband Paul Herod of Sapulpa, son Steve Whitehead and wife Sherry of Sapulpa, sister Pat Salsman and husband Byron of Spring, TX, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 20th at Greenhill Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Her Life will be held At Green Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday August 21st at 10:30 am with interment following at the Mounds Oakwood Cemetery.  The family has entrusted the service to Greenhill Funeral Home.
