Obituary of Mary Catherine Kazy

Mary Catherine Kazy went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the age of 82. She was born on July 14, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio. She was married to Guthrie J. Kazy (AKA “Sonny”) on January 16, 1954 in Gardenia, CA. They were married 46 years before his passing.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mattie Johnson, two brothers, Harry Allen Johnson and Robert E. Johnson, and her husband Rev. Guthrie J. Kazy.

She was survived by four daughters, Cheryl Ann Conatzer, Kathy Darlene Carlile, Vickie Diana Rogers and Charity Sue Lewis, Ten Grandchildren Billy, Brent, Amy, April, Audrey, Diana, Trent, Heather, Kristi and Kyle. Eighteen Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was known and loved by many as Catherine, Aunt Cathy, Mary, Maw Maw, Grandma Kazy, Mom and Sis Kazy.

In her early years she and her husband operated a dairy farm. She was also a housewife and mother. When her husband entered the ministry full-time her roll changed to a minister’s wife and she put her whole heart into supporting her husband, the ministry and shared his burden for the youth camp and young people.

She loved her children and Grandchildren. She was proud to tell anyone who asked how many she had. She was known for being a good cook, particularly her Biscuits and Gravy, Homemade Rolls and Cinnamon Rolls.

She was like a little kid at Christmas but loved to give gifts more than receive. She enjoyed cooking, family, friends, Church fellowship and dinners, camp meetings and youth camp.

She loved everyone she met, and they loved her. She especially loved children and babies. She was a hardworking, fun loving, dedicated, organized and Godly lady. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
