Obituary of Clarence Ralph Southard

Clarence Ralph Southard was born April 19, 1929, in Krebs, Ok to Allen Newton Southard and Anna Bell Rice Southard. He went to sleep in Jesus on Saturday January 4, 2020 in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Clarence went to grade school in Krebs, Ok and graduated from McAlester High school. He then attended Southwestern Junior College where he met Kitty and began a theology Degree which he finished at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. On August 7, 1950, Clarence married Nellie Kathrine Reeder (Who was known to everyone as “Kitty”) in Danbury, Texas. They were married 69 Years. He was a pastor for the Seventh-day Adventist church in Oklahoma, Tennessee and Kentucky. He was known for building churches(8). Church construction projects also included additions to schools, many of the structures at Summit Ridge retirement center, in Harrah, Ok. and parts of Wewoka Woods Youth Camp. For the past several years He and Kitty attended the Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church in Owasso. As health allowed, he enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as gardening, reading and building things. Those He leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include:

He was preceded in death by his wife “Kitty” Southard, his parents, Allen Newton (Also called Ginger or Red) and Anna Bell Rice Southard, and brothers, Mitchell, Jack, Kenneth, Doyle, and Richard Southard, Sisters, Dorothy Todd, Grace Testa, and Ruth Treat Pickering, Mildred Stidley, Juanita Ringer, and Mattie Clancy.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Green Hill Funeral Chapel in Owasso with Pastor David Qualls. officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Final interment will be held at Sandridge Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements and services are entrusted to Greenhill Funeral Home.
