Obituary of Patsy Dishman Owen

Please share a memory of Patsy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patsy Dishman Peeler Owen, 94, was born October 20, 1925 in Okemah, OK to Mack and Jessie Peeler. She went to be with the Lord and her sweetheart Billy on May 16, 2020. Patsy grew up in Guthrie, OK. Her dad owned a filling station with a house next door on one corner of the street and her school sweetheart, Billy Ray Owen, and his parents owned a funeral home across the street on the other corner. They knew each other almost all their lives. They married on September 1, 1945 and were together for 44 years until Billy passed away in 1989. Now they are together again forever. Patsy and Billy moved to Sapulpa in 1947 with Billy’s parents to open Owen Funeral Home. She helped with the day to day operations of the funeral home while raising 3 children. She also worked at Security National Bank for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 73 years, where she volunteered at the church food pantry and was a member of the choir for many years. She was also a member of Parent-Child Psychology Club, Ladies Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and just recently received a pin for 75 years in Eastern Star. She also volunteered at the Bartlett Hospital gift shop. Patsy was quite the seamstress and crocheted. She made all Debbie and Denise’s clothes when they were at home and even made clothes for her grandchildren. She was exceptionally talented that she could make anything. When the girls took dancing lessons, she made all the costumes for them and many, many others. She made many kilts when Mike was in a Scottish Club. Later in life she even crocheted hundreds of hats for newborn babies in the hospital. She loved OU Football. She went to Denise’s house every Saturday to watch the games. Later, while in Assisted Living, Denise would sometimes have to drive to Tulsa to make sure the TV was on the right channel for the game. She would get so confused and could not get the TV on the right channel. She was a sweet lady that never said anything bad about anyone. She was a tough and strong lady. She will be missed by all that knew her so much. The last few years her mind and memory has faded away, but she always loved with her whole heart, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc., as well as all the family gatherings. Patsy was proceeded in death by her husband Billy Ray Owen, her parents Mack and Jessie Peeler, her in-laws, J.F. and Johnnie Owen, her son, Mike Owen, and her sister Virginia Johnston. Patsy is survived by her children Debbie Karn and Bruce, Denise Morgan and Charlie, grandchildren, Gina Oler and Jeff, Carey Chapman and Bryan, Chad Karn and Kaylin, Justin Morgan and Mary Jane, Zac Morgan and girlfriend Kayla, her great-grandchildren Drake Dugan and Kayla, Bleys Dugan and Hannah, Edie Chapman, Caiden Karn, Hank Morgan, and Mack Morgan, and great, great-grandchildren, Linkoln Dugan and Jaxson, also survived by several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
