Obituary of Alexis Grace Ward
Please share a memory of Alexis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alexis Grace Ward passed away July 10, 2020 at the age of 29. She was born February 26, 1991 in Derby, Kansas. Her family moved to Hillsboro, Texas where she lived several years. In grade school she moved to Mounds, Oklahoma where she went to school and later made her home as an adult.
Alexis attempted to play sports, as her siblings did, but found her talent in the genre of style and makeup. Alexis was sweet, funny, and silly but also very loving with a big heart. Although she was small (5’ 4”), she was protective of her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends but especially loved her time with her 3 children. She liked trying new recipes and loved being in the kitchen with her children baking cookies, making nachos or anything the kids would enjoy. She loved snuggles with her baby boy (a carbon copy of Alexis). She had great style and loved the occasions to dress up and loved dressing her kids up as well.
She loved going to church and having a relationship with Jesus. Alexis wanted her children to grow up in church and know Jesus as well. She wanted them to have fun and love life. Alexis always missed the family she left behind in Texas and missed having a closer relationship with her family there.
Alexis is survived by her 3 children, Leila Grace (9), Gabriella Grace (5) and West Lee (18 months). She also leaves behind her mother Laurie Martin and step-father Alan; father Gary Ward and Dianna Gandee; grandmother Wilburta Britt; step grandmother Mildred Martin; siblings Stephanie Bow and husband Darrel and children Dustin and Dillan; Rebecca Cabrales and husband Richie and children Chandler and Emily; Angela Whisenhunt and husband Terry and children Trey, Preston, Kaylee and Asher; Benjamin Ward and wife Jen and children Masan, Alayna and Aden; Chelsea Stines and husband Greg and daughter Sofia; Victoria Day and husband Aaron and son Matthew; Briana Ward and son Kayden; stepbrothers Marcus and Marshal Martin; aunts Lynn Pendleton and husband Kent and children Nathan, David and Laura; Jane Cueto and children Justin, Camille and Julian; uncle David Ward and wife Rose and daughter Kelly; as well as many friends. She left too soon, but will not be forgotten.
