Obituary of Gregory Scott Morales

Gregory Scott (Wedel) Morales was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 19, 1996 to Donald Earl Wedel and Kimberly Dawn (Tarrant) Wedel. He lived in Prue, attending Pre-K there until moving to Sapulpa where he attended 1st grade at Liberty Elementary, Lonestar during 2nd – 8th grade, Sapulpa Jr. High then Sapulpa High School until 11th grade when he attended Mounds High School, graduating in 2014. After graduating high school, he worked for Go-Bob until entering the military in May 2015. Greg has two older sisters, Kelley Calmes and Katie Wedel and two younger brothers, Nick and Andrew Wedel. Danica and Michael Wedel are his newest siblings who he never had the opportunity to get to know. During his time in the military he went from Ft. Leonard Wood to Korea. After serving in Korea he was assigned to Ft. Hood. He then served in Kuwait and then returned to his base in Ft. Hood where he lived until his death. He received the following awards while serving in the United States Armed Forces; National service medal, Global war terrorism expeditionary medal, Global war on terrorism service medal, uwait Defense service medal, Army service ribbon, Overseas service ribbon, Army achievement medal 2nd award, Army good conduct medal, Certificate of achievement 2nd award, and Driver mechanic badge. Greg always loved big trucks, motorcycles and his cowboy boots and hat. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball with his friends and working on his truck. May 26, 2017 Greg married Penny Morales and became a stepfather to two girls he loved like his own, Kaylin and Genevyne Morales. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Phyllis Tarrant (2012) and Lois Wedel (2019). He is survived by his wife Penny Morales, step-daughters Kaylin and Genevyne, mother Kim Wedel of Sapulpa, father Donald Wedel of Spokane, WA, sisters Kelley Calmes (CJ Calmes)of CO, Kathryn Wedel of Wichita, KS, sister Danica Wedel, and brothers Nicholas Wedel (Destinee), Andrew Wedel and Michael Wedel, all of Sapulpa. He also leaves behind grandfathers Lee Tarrant (Carol) of Kansas, OK and Larry Wedel of Avant, OK, aunts and uncles Michelle and John Wimberly, Ron and Judy Wedel, Shawn and Ryan Cole, Patty and Marvin Jantz, James and Denise Wedel along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many others that were like family to him. There will be no flowers allowed at the graveside in Ft. Gibson. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to consider donations to Susan G. Komen breast cancer research. Family will be at the funeral home to greet friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Jul 30 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church 200 S. Elm, Sapulpa Gregory's Final Resting Place is in Ft Gibson National Cemetery 1423 Cemetery Rd Ft.
