Obituary of Claud Allen Strong

Reverend Claud Allen Strong of Claremore, OK went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born to Homer and Rutha Strong on March 9, 1938 in Chandler, OK. On May 17, 1957, he married the love of his life, Peggy Smith of Tulsa, OK. During their sixty three years of marriage, they were blessed with two daughters and a son: Felecia Rosdahl of Skiatook, OK Brenda Gilmore of Kenwood, OK Kevin Strong of Burleson, TX He has seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is also the youngest of sixteen children and is survived by three brothers: Larence Strong of Springfield, MO Norman Strong of Murfreesboro, TN Charles Strong of McAllen, TX In February ’76, he was ordained into the ministry and in ’77 began building the Craig County Baptist Church in Vinita, OK. He retired in ’06 and moved to Claremore, OK. Missing the ministry, he began to pastor at Sageeyah Baptist Church until December ‘19 He loved his family—his wife, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved to share jokes and loved relating to people in the way of mentoring, counselling, always lending a hand. He enjoyed wood working out in his building and piddling around in the garage. His infectious laugh and great sense of humor is why many people became lifelong friends. He also had a love for sweets and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was fortunate enough to meet Roger Staubach in 1998. He was a kind hearted Christian man that was a joy to be around and will be missed immensely.
