Velma June Zimmerman passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Cimarron Pointe Nursing Home in Mannford, Oklahoma. She was 86 years of age. Velma was born on June 8, 1923 in Jennings, Oklahoma to John D. Wooton and Lula Elizabeth (Watkins) Wooton. She was married to Martin H. Zimmerman on February 20, 1940. She was a retired clerk and owner of a grocery store. Velma had been a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was a beloved wife, sister, and aunt, much loved by all who knew her. Her loving wisdom guided so many and her strength will continue to inspire us all.
Velma was preceded in death by her loving parents and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Martin (Uncle Buck) Zimmerman; child, Christy Bartley; brother, Earl Wooton; sisters; Wray Dunlap and Janet Floyd and numerous other family members and friends.

2:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2009, Graveside service

Jennings City Cemetery, Jennings, Oklahoma
