Walter Lee Wood was born June 14th 1932 in Elgin, Kansas to Everett and Velma (Jacobus) Wood. He graduated from Bowring, Oklahoma as Valedictorian and later attended business school in Wichita, Kansas.
On September 5th, 1951 he married Marcella Huckstep. Together they had seven children, 13 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and 3 step, great-grandchildren. Their children are Yvonne Rosson (Johnny) of Niotaze, KS, Wayne Wood (Linda) of Tulsa, OK, Eric Wood (Teresa) of Mannford, OK, Karen Tearl of Sedan, KS, Orville Wood (RaDonna) of Sapulpa, OK, Scott Wood (Shirley) of Sapulpa, OK, and Cynthia Woessner of Broken Arrow.
He has two brothers George Wood of Glen Burnie, MD and Albert Wood of Newkirk, OK. One sister Nellie Reed, who proceeded him in death. Walter also had two grandsons that proceeded him in death Harvey Tearl, Jr. and Russell Wood.
