Obituary of Armond O'Dell Cartee

Please share a memory of Armond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Armond O’Dell Cartee was born in Marshall, Missouri November 3, 1952 to parents William Cartee and Mary (Cooper). He passed away from this life and moved on to his Heavenly Home on November 8, 2020. Armond grew up in Bridgeport, Nebraska and attended school there while working in his father’s auto mechanic shop. He went on to join the United States Marine Corp and served his country with pride. He met the love of his life, Judy Dale, after serving in the Marines and the couple was married. The couple was blessed with 40 years of marriage and 6 children. Armond loved football and was hands down the biggest San Francisco 49rs fan. He enjoyed listening to music, playing horseshoes and chess. He taught most of his grandchildren how to play chess with his technique. Playing pool, joking and having a few cold ones at Torchie’s with his buddies was also a favorite way to spend his time. Armond had a green thumb and always grew a huge vegetable garden that he tended with his wife Judy. He cooked a mean brisket and called it his famous recipe. He had many nick names ranging from Moses, Jesus, Hippie and if he made Granny real mad, he was Shag Nasty. He was preceded in death by his parents William Cartee and Mary Hambarger; sister Kathy Bartholomew; brother Bruce Kepley ; and grandson Max Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife Judy Cartee of Sapulpa; son Michael Cartee of Tulsa; son Billy Cartee of Sapulpa; son Harley Cartee of Sapulpa; son Damon Wesley of Sapulpa; daughter Darla Rodriguez and husband Marcus of Sapulpa; daughter Debra Trout and husband Tony of Bristow; brother Tom Whipple of Texas; brother John Whipple and wife Kim; sister Marie Hambarger of Sapulpa; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Armond will be forever in our hearts as he finds his peace, without pain, in Heaven. We will look back on our memories and smile, knowing he is our forever Angel. He is always loved and never forgotten. The family has requested donation toward funeral services in lieu of flowers.
