Obituary of Lusta Ann Davis
Please share a memory of Lusta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lusta Ann Davis was born on November 29, 1942 in Bixby (Snake Creek) Oklahoma to Johnnie Mae Obie and Sidney Johnson. Lusta was the youngest of three children. Lusta received her angel wings November 12, 2020.
Lusta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Lusta was known for sharing her home, food or anything that would help anyone in need. Lusta enjoyed talking on the phone, watching western television shows, plus an occasional run to the casino. Lusta was a 30-year employee with Bios Company of Sapulpa. Working for Bios gave her 30 years to share her big heart with those in need of an extra bit of love. As a child, Lusta was baptized at Calvary Baptist church of Sapulpa, she often told funny stories of being in church seven days a week; walking to the church in the rain and snow with her grandma Bettis making sure she didn't take a left instead of a right turn. As an adult Lusta joined Flipper Chapel AME church in Sapulpa, working in any capacity needed.
Lusta grew up in Snake Creek (Bixby) before her family relocated to Sapulpa, Oklahoma where she attended Booker T Washington High School, later receiving her diploma from Sapulpa public school. While growing up in Sapulpa she met her first husband Sgt Major Ralph Mackey Sr. to that union five children were born. Later in life, she met her second husband Sgt Lorell Davis, who preceded her in death.
Lusta was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Erma Jean Vigor and brother Floyd Johnson. Lusta is survived by her five children: Victor Mackey (Tonya) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Sherri Mackey of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Ronald Mackey (Barbara) of San Diego, California; Ralph Mackey Jr. of Reisterstown, Maryland; and Terri Mackey-Dansby (Bernard) of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Lusta leaves seven grandchildren: Elijah Mackey of Bronx, New York; Marcus (Cody) Hopson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jessica Mackey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jasmine Mackey of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Haley Dansby of Louisville, Kentucky; Courtney Dansby of Norman, Oklahoma; Bernard Dansby Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma.
