Obituary of Beulah Bernice Smittick

Please share a memory of Beulah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reflections of Life Dorothy Rector and Hubert Lee Anderson welcomed a baby girl – Beulah Bernice in the fall of 1940 on October 7th. She was the 1st born of 6 children. Beulah’s health started to fail recently; she resisted the challenge as long as she could until God saw fit to end her struggle on Monday, November 23rd of 2020. She grew up around the Shawnee area where she attended school. As an outgoing and vivacious teenager, she met and married James Petty. To this union, 5 children were reared. Later Beulah remarried, and her and John Smittick, together had another child. She was the loving mother of 6 children. She was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers and a sister. Beulah was definitely a creature of habit. She loved word searches, watching TV (westerns, court dramas, and game shows). Her family was her life. She looked forward to holidays and other family events so she could showcase her cooking expertise. No one left her home hungry. To know her was to like her. She could bring the friendliness out of a stone. Her laughter often set the mood for having a “good day”. Beulah had a welcoming spirit. She was loved by many and will always be in the hearts of her family. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; 3 daughters – Tijwana F. Petty, Texas – Theronda L. Petty and Katrina F. Petty, Sapulpa, OK; 3 sons – Tracy Petty, OKC, OK – James C. Petty, Tulsa, OK – Trevell Smittick, Kansas; a sister – Joann Williams, California; a brother – Neely House, Dover, OK; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. www.greenhillok.com
