Obituary of Simon Nelson Harry

Simon Nelson Harry passed on November 30, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his homeplace. He was born to Ada Fox and Roy Harry on June 19, 1922 on the Mvskoke Reservation, Tulsa County.
Simon and Nancy Jo Barnett were married in 1949.
Simon Nelson Harry served in the Army branch of the Armed Forces. He participated in World War II, campaign in Burma, China.
He worked & retired as Groundskeeper of Cedar Ridge Country Club.
He is survived by daughters Bonnie Antelope and Charlotte Tiger of Hectorville, sons Cecil Harry of Shawnee, Robbie Harry and Randy Harry of Hectorville. Two adopted daughters LaCinda Wilson, Cindi Mae Tiger. and Cecelia Whitman. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 70 years Nancy Jo Harry, daughter Sue Walker, and one grandson Jonathan Harry.
P’athl’@ˆ (Chief) was his title at the Duck Creek Ceremonial Ground, where he had a livelong seat. He was the oldest Chief throughout the Mvskoke Reservation. He had visited all active ceremonial grounds throughout his lifetime and was well known as a great Leader and loving Chief. He touched many lives.
He was involved with the Duck Creek Indian Community in helping his Euchee people. He was honored by many organizations for his veteran and community service.
Chief’s clan was “Wolf” and Euchee tribal town is where he was from.
