Obituary of ROBERT COX
Please share a memory of ROBERT to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert "Grizz" Cox was born on January 4, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert and Mary Lee Cox. He passed away on October 29, 2009 at his home in Sapulpa at the age of 47 and is now spending quality time with his beloved grandparents and parents.
Robert married Jan Mathena on May 25, 1983 at Woodward Park in Tulsa and they recently celebrated 26 years of marriage. He was owner of RJ&M Trucking Company.
Robert is survived by wife, Jan; sons, Cody and Kyle Cox; sister, Rhonda DuVall and husband, Craig of Bixby; stepbrother, Dan Sisney; stepsister, Dana House; and nephew, Dalton DuVall.
Robert was known for being ornery, but in a playful way. He could convince you that even though it was the middle of the day, it was dark outside because of some unique meteorological event, ensuring you would run to the window to check it out. Once he even convinced his own father to run outside and look up because a stealth bomber was getting ready to fly overhead. And even though there were times he could have made Mother Teresa cuss, he would give anyone the shirt off his back or drive hundreds of miles to come to your aid.
While Robert is now gone from our physical lives, he will never be gone from our memories. May we always hold him dear in our hearts.
